Katie Hartwig, MS

Counselor in Training

Treatment Focus:

Katie works with clients of all ages with anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. She has a special interest in working with individuals, couples, and families who are involved in ministry work.

Bio:

Katie joined the CFS team in 2024 after receiving a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bethany Lutheran College. She is currently providing in-person and telehealth services to outpatient and MAP clients at the Mankato location.

During her internship at The Soul's Apothecary in Lakeville, MN, she worked with clients ages 6-70 dealing with anxiety, attachment, grief, trauma, and relationship challenges. She also collaborated on care teams providing a combination of individual and marital therapy to couples.

Katie approaches counseling with a holistic view of each person and the belief that everyone was created by a loving God who loves and values His children. She uses evidence-based methods and Christian integration strategies tailored for each individual. She sees the unique, trusting relationship with her clients as the launchpad for healing. She believes suffering creates the opportunity for us to remind each other of God's promises, guidance, and love (Matthew 11:28-30, 1 Cor. 16:14, Psalm 43:3, Isaiah 25:8, 1 Cor. chapter 13).

Katie is supervised by Heather Jackowell.
