“Now that we are blessed with our own family, we want to continue to support this ministry that has benefitted families and individuals through every milestone.”
Mike and Debbie’s lives would have been very different had they not been served by Wisconsin Lutheran Child and Family Service (WLCFS) over 35 years ago.
In the 1980s, Mike and Debbie were searching for solutions that would help them have a family. WLCFS at the time was focused on senior and social services, including adoption services. Mike and Debbie were able to adopt their two children through WLCFS.
The ministry focus of WLCFS shifted over the decades with the changing needs of the world. Today, as mental health challenges affect nearly 1 out of 4 individuals, WLCFS now does business as Christian Family Solutions (CFS) and is focused on mental health issues and their impact on families and communities.
Mike and Debbie’s family transformed because of this agency many years ago, and they still support the work being done today. They recognize that even though the nature of services has changed, the agency still shares the Gospel message with families and individuals in their time of need.
“We have been blessed, both materially and spiritually, and we want to give back to God what is already His,” they say. “We have included Christian Family Solutions in our planned giving designations.”
Today Mike and Debbie’s adopted children have children of their own.
“Our family has grown and thrives because of the hope we were given back at a time when we had little hope. Today we want others to experience the joys of a life of service.”
