Bio:

In 2024, Ron joined CFS. He holds an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN, as well as a Master of Divinity from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. He served as a parish pastor for more than four decades.

Ron's desire is to walk with clients as they seek purpose in their lives. He utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and person-centered therapy to help clients identify and build on their strengths as they strive for positive change. He incorporates God's Word into counseling sessions, as the client is comfortable doing so, to assure them they have value and their goals are important.

Ron is the recipient of the 2025 Fred Matzke Award for Excellence in Faith Integration. The award was established to recognize a counselor or staff member at CFS who is dedicated to providing evidence-based counseling care that is effectively and appropriately integrated with principles of the Christian faith.

Ron is supervised by Dr. Ashley Schoof.
