Rachel provides support for the social, mental, and emotional needs of students from K-8. She works collaboratively with school staff to help create the best learning environment for all students. Rachel works to find resources for additional help and support for students, families, and school staff.
Rachel joined CFS in 2023 as a School-Based Wellness Specialist. She serves one day each week at St Mark Lutheran School in Eau Claire, WI.
Rachel graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 2002 with a Social Work degree. In 2023, Rachel earned a certificate in Community Health Ministry through the Meros Center. She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bethany Lutheran College.
After graduating from UWEC, Rachel worked as a Licensed Social Worker in Juvenile Justice for a county Family & Children's unit. She left that work to be a stay-at-home mom for her 3 children. When she returned to work, Rachel served as the Volunteer Coordinator for a pregnancy resource center, where she taught peer helping skills to volunteers and worked with women and men facing an unexpected pregnancy; she has been trained in post-abortion counseling as well. In addition to her role at CFS, Rachel serves as the Foster Support Coordinator for Kingdom Workers. Rachel strives to be a safe and supportive person in the lives of all those she has the privilege to work with. She lives with her husband and teens in Eau Claire.
