Mike joined CFS in 2022 as an intern in the Southeastern Wisconsin area. He served as a Mental Health Support Specialist in our ARMOR Day Treatment Program and an Outpatient Therapist In-Training at our Brookfield and Muskego clinics. He achieved a BA and Divinity degree in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod and served as a parish pastor for 20 years. He also served as a religion instructor at a Lutheran high school for four years. In 2023 Mike achieved a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology through Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN.

Since graduation, Mike has been serving as an Outpatient Therapist at Living Word Lutheran Church and Ministry Center two days a week. He also serves as the Manager of Community and Congregational Partnerships assisting congregations and mission partners to organize and maintain sustainable clinics in their local sites.

Mike loves to integrate Christ-centered truths with evidenced-based therapy. Much of his therapy has Cognitive Behavioral Therapy roots and includes his day treatment experiences with Dialectal Behavior skills. He enjoys using Acceptance Commitment Theories when possible. His outpatient treatments for younger clients involve a great deal of Play Therapy and exploration of behaviors. His work with adults and couples integrates validation and emotional support as often as possible. Mike also loves to speak in churches and schools advocating for faith-based mental health.
