Ken specializes in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD, stress management, and geriatric counseling. He also provides treatment for relapse prevention for individuals recovering from substance abuse.
Ken Schmidt joined Christian Family Solutions in 2016. He received his Master of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He also obtained a Master of Divinity Degree from Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary, Mankato, Minnesota and a certificate in Substance Abuse Treatment from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Before he joined Christian Family Solutions, Ken provided mental health therapy for a culturally diverse population aged 18 and older in a managed care organization. He continues that work.
Ken has 30+ years of experience as a pastor, during which he provided pastoral counseling to individuals and couples.
Ken uses a variety of counseling modalities that include cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and other modalities along with the gospel of Jesus Christ to provide healing for mind, heart, and soul.
