In this presentation, participants (generally adolescent and high school-aged athletes, but can also apply to a college-aged audience) will learn about anxiety, motivation, and mental toughness in sports and performance. They will receive information related to practical interventions to manage and maintain mental wellness as it applies to competition as well as future success.

Notes:  This presentation will be done by video-conferencing. This topic can also be slightly altered upon request to put more emphasis on one aspect of mental wellness in sports, such as anxiety, motivation, or mental toughness. This topic can also be altered to address a college-aged audience.

Mental wellness and the role of parents in adolescent sports

Intended audience: Parents of adolescents/high school athletes

In this presentation, participants learn about various aspects of being a parent/care-giver/mentor of adolescent athletes and how emotional and behavioral traits affect our youth in sports. Parents will receive practical information on the best ways to relate to their athletes and promote mental wellness, relationship-building, and future success.
