From Independent Living apartments to Assisted Living options to Skilled Nursing facilities, this presentation explains what each type of housing offers and how to determine which is right for you or your loved one.
Fall Prevention

Falls occur frequently as we age and can lead to devastating medical expenses. They can be debilitating and frightening as they take away a senior’s sense of independence. While prevalent, many falls can be avoided. This is an overview of the many ways simple changes can reduce the risk of falling.
Alzheimer’s/Dementia Awareness

As we age, our brains age. We may experience slowed thinking or forgetfulness over time. Serious memory loss, confusion, and other major changes in the way our minds work, however, are not a normal part of aging. This discussion will spotlight the warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease: what to expect and different ways to cope with the disease’s effects.
Problem Gambling in Older Adults
Length: 90 minutes
Cost: MAP: $300/Non-MAP: $400 (plus expenses)
This presentation will review various reasons why older adults are susceptible to gambling problems. In addition, it will briefly review several strategies to help reduce the risk of developing future gambling difficulties. The presentation will consist of a lecture format, including a PowerPoint slide show. In addition, the seminar may include small group discussions and opportunities for question and answer.
