Specializes in working with children with trauma, emotional and behavioral issues, and their families
Kirsten joined Christian Family Solutions in 2020. She received her BA in Art Therapy and her MS in Art Therapy with a Concentration in Counseling from Mount Mary University. Prior to joining Christian Family Solutions, Kirsten provided individual and group art therapy for children, adolescents, and families in a hospital setting.
Through her clinical training, Kirsten has worked with autism, emotional and behavior disorders, trauma, and coping related to significant medical diagnoses and treatment. She understands that stress is unique to each member of the family and affects daily interactions. Kirsten believes in taking a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy to achieve client goals. Sessions are a space to express thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment.
Kirsten loves to incorporate art into her sessions. Many people worry that they are not “artistic” enough for art therapy. No art experience necessary! The art materials are another way to express your feelings, especially when you don’t have the words.
