Specializes in helping children, adolescents, and young adults with depression, anxiety, trauma, and abandonment and attachment issues.
Heather joined Christian Family Solutions in 2018. She earned her BS in Psychology and her MS in Mental Health Counseling at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Her experience includes counseling for adults struggling with mental health issues, and she specializes in working in school settings and mental health settings with children and adolescents who struggle with behavior issues, anxiety, attachment, depression, self-harming behaviors, and/or abandonment issues and trauma.
Heather looks forward to continuing her work with children and adolescents, but also with families and adults with concerns that include mental health issues, relationship difficulties, domestic violence, and parent-child issues.
Heather’s philosophy comes from a strong belief that each person has the power to make positive change in his or her life, and her approach to therapy is to provide focused guidance when it is too difficult for someone to move forward alone. She believes that a collaborative approach to help a client change thoughts and behaviors by adopting healthy coping strategies will help the client feel empowered to make those positive changes.
