Bio:

Dawn joined Christian Family Solutions in 2017. She worked at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School as the International Student Coordinator and at Rogers Memorial Hospital on the Child and Adolescent Unit as a pool social worker. Dawn has experience coordinating admissions to the Adolescent Dual Diagnosis IOP/PHO Program and Anxiety/OCD IOP as a member of the intake team at Rogers Memorial Hospital in Brown Deer.

Dawn completed her Master’s degree in Community Counseling at Mount Mary University in 2013. Her education and experience also include cross-cultural work as she completed a Master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology with an emphasis on Sociolinguistics at Wichita State University. This was followed by the rewarding opportunity of working in a supportive role with refugees seeking help in finding gainful employment and adjusting to a new life in the United States.

Dawn’s counseling approach is guided by a client’s needs while using techniques originating in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and motivational interviewing. Dawn also finds it helpful to allow clients to use techniques less reliant on spoken words and more directed at connecting with emotions through narrative counseling, expressive art-based techniques, and similar evocative methods.

Dawn believes that services through Christian Family Solutions provide an exceptional opportunity to allow clients to nurture their spiritual health through understanding that they are created and loved creatures through the perfect work of their Creator.
