Specializes in working with individuals, couples, and families with a variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, parenting, trauma, substance use, self-esteem, and grief/loss.
Brenda joined Christian Family Solutions in the fall of 2019. She earned her Master’s In Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Before going back to receive her Masters Degree Brenda spent 30 years as an educator in both k-12 public schools and college level. She also has been teaching group fitness classes for the last 32 years, including cardio fitness, yoga, social dance, kickboxing, step and cycling.
Brenda has experience leading various adult groups including topics of health and wellness, mindfulness, DBT, life skills and self compassion. Brenda has worked in an outpatient and intensive outpatient group setting with individuals experiencing mental health issues and substance use issues.
Brenda uses a strengths-based collaborative approach to therapy, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy with a trauma informed lens. Brenda believes that all people have the ability to grow, change and heal at any stage and age of life.
