Specializes in working with children with trauma, emotional and behavioral issues, and their families
Autumn joined Christian Family Solutions in November 2018 as a counseling intern in the STRONG day treatment program. She earned her BS in Psychology from Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, WI. She completed her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and earned a trauma counseling certificate at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, WI.
After graduating with her Master’s degree, Autumn joined the STRONG program full time as a therapist. Prior to joining CFS, she held a position as a graduate counseling intern for a local private practice, where she worked at an outpatient level with children and their families from a variety of backgrounds who were experiencing behavioral and emotional issues. Autumn also has experience working as a line therapist for autism treatment for children, in which she implemented Applied Behavioral Analysis interventions with children on the autism spectrum. Through her clinical training and experiences, Autumn has worked with trauma, autism, emotional and behavioral disorders, mood disorders, and foster care and adoption, conducting individual, family, play, and group therapy.
Autumn’s approach to counseling is integrative and holistic—using a combination of person-centered/strengths-based and cognitive-behavioral theories. She approaches all healing from a trauma counseling lens. Foundationally, she believes that healing comes through positive relationships in the present, so she works to build strong therapeutic relationships and to meet the children she serves where they are at each day. Coming from a trauma counseling perspective, she also loves incorporating creative, play, and sensory interventions into her counseling practices.
