Specializes in treatment for individuals of all ages regarding concerns surrounding anxiety, depression, trauma, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, stress management, and self-esteem.
Abbey Van Boxtel joined CFS as an intern in 2017. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She then went on to obtain her Master’s of Social Work with specializations in trauma-informed care and substance abuse, also from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Abbey’s prior experience, before joining CFS, was in the Behavior Clinic at Penfield Children’s Center where she did in-home behavioral therapy with children ages 0-5 years old. Abbey is a member of ARMOR, the CFS adolescent IOP, treatment team.
When working with clients, Abbey strives to mirror God’s love and truly engage and connect with her clients to work together, utilize their strengths, and meet them where they are in their lives. She has an eclectic approach that will often draw mainly from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well as many others.
