When Is It Time for Home Care?
When Pastor Alan Siggelkow’s aging parents decided that they wanted to remain in their home despite some health issues, he knew that they needed some in-home help to keep them comfortable and safe—so he turned to Christian Family Solutions Home Care.
After consulting with the family, we coordinated a group of compassionate caregivers to help the Siggelkows with everything from medication reminders to assistance with bathing and personal care. Christian Family Solutions Home Care provides a group of four caregivers who spend about 144 hours per week with the Siggelkows, and they have become like additional family members to them.
Pastor Siggelkow and his family now have peace of mind, knowing that his parents are being cared for with just the right care plan that meets their needs—and if their needs change, the care will change to meet those needs. He says, “Our family sat down with Bryan to work out a care plan, and we now feel confident knowing that my parents are safe and secure in their home.“
How do I know if my loved one needs help at home?
Often, making the decision to get help at home for a loved one is not easy. How do you know when it is time? Here are a few questions that you can ask:
• Is my loved one having trouble getting around?
• Have my loved one’s eating habits changed? Has he lost weight?
• Does it seem that my loved one can no longer dress herself easily or keep her clothes clean?
• Is my loved one forgetting to take his medication?
If you answered yes to most of these questions, you might want to consider home care. For a personal consultation, please contact us at 888.685.9522. Some of our home care services, like our Medication Monitoring Program and our Personal Emergency Response System, can be provided no matter where your loved one lives in country.
